CUNY / DOE Technology Support Internship Program
The CUNY Institute for Software Design and Development (CISDD) is now recruiting approximately 100+ new paid intern positions for the 2011-2012 academic year. Positions entail providing tech support to a New York City Department of Education public school between September 2011 and June 2012 for 15 hours each week. All positions involve a paid training session prior to the start of the internship as well as extensive technical help just a phone call away throughout the year.Candidates Must Be:
- Currently matriculated and registered CUNY students
- Available to work 15 hours each week in addition to their school work
- Graduating no earlier than June 2012
- Authorized to work under INS laws for on-campus jobs
- Able to perform the following job duties
Job Duties:
- Assist in set up of new computer equipment in classrooms and offices
- Install software
- Ensure that LCD projectors, smart boards, and other related audio/video equipment are functioning
- Troubleshoot hardware and software problems in conjunction with DOE Help Center and borough technology staff
- Configure wireless devices to access DOE network
- Maintain classroom servers
- Maintain technology equipment inventory
- Monitor equipment and work with Help Center to ensure timely repair
- Provide assistance in use of technology equipment
- Coordinate with MOUSE Squad, if applicable
Rate of Pay: $12/hour
Weekly Hours: Placements will be for 15 hours/week. Hours offered are non-negotiable.
Position Duration: September 12, 2011 through June 30, 2012
